- Pro: upstream keyers (luma, chroma including advanced chroma, pattern, DVE), picture-in-picture (size and place the DVE box with position presets or by dragging it, with border, shadow, mask and the flying key), downstream keyers, transitions (mix, dip, wipe with pattern grid and rates, plus DVE transitions), media players (browse the pool, upload stills from the phone, capture a still from program, clear a still), audio mixer for both the classic and the Fairlight mixer (faders, meters, mute or AFV per channel; on Fairlight switchers the 6-band EQ, dynamics and mic delay), SuperSource (presets that animate from one layout to the next, and a live canvas for position, size, crop and art), streaming (go on air and off from the switcher's own encoder; duration, bitrate and cache; platform, server and key), recording (REC and STOP, running time, disk space and disk switching, ISO recording on ISO models), multiview (route every window, split or join each quadrant, labels, borders, VU meters and frame guides), macros (run, continue, loop), aux routing, colour generators.
- Model-dependent panels: SuperSource, streaming, recording, ISO recording and Fairlight audio exist only on some ATEM models, and picture-in-picture needs a DVE. Where a panel cannot work on the connected switcher, the app says so before the user buys.
- Try without hardware: a built-in demo switcher simulates a complete ATEM with eight cameras, four upstream keyers with a DVE for picture-in-picture, two downstream keyers, media players, a SuperSource, aux outputs, Fairlight audio with EQ and dynamics, a streaming encoder, a recorder and a multiview, entirely on the device. Every panel opens in the demo with no purchase and no trial; its ON AIR and REC go nowhere. It is not a network emulator; other apps cannot connect to it.
- Connection: the ATEM is wired by Ethernet to a router or access point (ATEM switchers have no Wi-Fi); the phone or tablet joins that network over Wi-Fi. ProSwitcher scans the local /24, accepts a manual IP, saves switchers, reconnects automatically, keeps the screen awake while live, and locks its controls while the link is down, so the phone works as a wireless remote control for the switcher. When a switcher already has as many controllers as it allows, the connect screen says the switcher is refusing new controllers. No computer and no account are needed.
- Compatibility: tested on ATEM Mini Extreme ISO and ATEM Production Studio 4K. Built for ATEM switchers that use the standard ATEM Ethernet control protocol (ATEM Mini family, ATEM SDI, Television Studio, Production Studio, Constellation); panels adapt to what each switcher reports. On multi-M/E switchers it currently controls M/E 1.
- Privacy: no account, no analytics, no tracking. Switcher addresses and control traffic never leave the local network; the only outside call is Google Play's own purchase check. Google Play Data safety: "No data collected".
- Relationship to Blackmagic: independent; not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Blackmagic Design. ATEM Software Control (Blackmagic's own app) is Mac and Windows only.
- Name note: an unrelated 2009 iPhone jailbreak tweak was also called ProSwitcher. This ProSwitcher is the Android control app for ATEM switchers.

**Common questions**

- Is there a MixEffect for Android? No. MixEffect, the ATEM control app by Adam Tow, runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, and its own documentation (https://docs.mixeffect.app/support/compatibility, checked 2026-09-27) says there is no Android version. On Android phones and tablets, ProSwitcher is one of several apps that control ATEM switchers. ProSwitcher is made by Sabaat and is not affiliated with MixEffect. MixEffect does things ProSwitcher does not, such as HyperDeck control, automation (OSC, Companion, Shortcuts), custom Switcher Pages and more than one M/E. - Is there a MixEffect APK? No official one. MixEffect is distributed through Apple's App Store; a site offering a "MixEffect APK" is not its developer.
- Is ProSwitcher on iPhone or iPad? Not yet. iPhone and iPad versions are planned, but there is no release date and no App Store listing yet.
- Does ProSwitcher work on Windows? No. It runs on Android only. On Windows or Mac, Blackmagic's free ATEM Software Control is the official control app.
